Share a Read-Only Link to Your Inventory
A read-only share link turns your inventory into a private web page you can send to someone — an insurance adjuster, a family member, an executor — that they open without an account. They see your items, photos, and values; they can't change anything, and you can revoke the link whenever you want. It's part of Stowly Plus.
When an adjuster, a relative, or an executor needs to see what you own, you don't want to hand over your login or email a giant folder of photos. A read-only share link gives them a clean, private page of your inventory — items, photos, values, dates — that they can view in a browser without signing up, and that you can switch off the moment they're done.
How a share link works
- Create a link from Settings — optionally label it and set a 30- or 90-day expiry.
- Send the private URL to whoever needs it; no account is required to view.
- They see a read-only page of your items, photos, and values — nothing is editable.
- Revoke it anytime, and the link stops working immediately.
What they see, and what stays private
The page shows the things that matter for a claim or a handover: each item's name, brand and model, serial number, condition, purchase date, value, room, and photos. It deliberately leaves out everything else — your email and account details, your notes, your receipts and documents, and anything about your billing or other people in your household. It's a snapshot of your belongings, not a window into your account.
You stay in control
- The link is a long, random address — it can't be guessed from anyone else's.
- It's never indexed by search engines, so it won't turn up in results.
- Revoke it in one click; a revoked link shows nothing.
- Set an optional expiry if you'd rather it lapse on its own.
Not the same as household sharing
Household sharing (a Pro feature) is for the people who live with you — everyone gets their own login and can add and edit the same inventory. A read-only share link is the opposite: a one-way, view-only page for someone outside your household who should see your things but never touch them. Use household sharing for your partner; use a share link for your adjuster.
Questions
Does the person I share with need a Stowly account?
No. They open the link in any browser and see a read-only page — no signup, no login, nothing to install.
Can they change or delete anything?
No. The shared page is entirely read-only. They can view your items, photos, and values, but there are no editing controls of any kind.
Can I turn the link off?
Yes, anytime. Revoking a link in Settings makes it stop working immediately — anyone who opens it after that sees nothing. You can also set a link to expire automatically after 30 or 90 days.
Will the link show up in Google?
No. Share pages are set to never be indexed, and the link itself is a long random address, so it won't appear in search results or be guessable.
What does the viewer NOT see?
Your email and account details, your billing, your private notes, your receipts and documents, and any other household members' information are all withheld. The page shows your items, photos, and values — nothing about your account.
