Privacy Policy

Stowly is a home inventory app. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We try to keep this short and plain.

Information we collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address and the display name you provide. When you use the app, we store the items, rooms, photos, documents, and reminders that you choose to add. We use Supabase to host this data on our behalf.

We do not ask for or store payment card details directly. If you subscribe to a paid plan in the future, payment information is handled by Stripe under their terms and privacy policy.

How we use your information

We use the information you provide to run the service: to display your inventory, send reminder emails you have configured, and keep your account working. Reminder emails are sent via Resend on our behalf. We do not sell your data, and we do not run third-party advertising.

Data storage

Account data, item records, and reminder schedules are stored in Supabase. Photos and documents you upload are stored in private Supabase Storage buckets and served to your browser via short-lived signed URLs. Row-level security rules restrict access to the account that owns each record.

Cookies and analytics

We use a single cookie for authentication — it keeps you signed in between visits. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and referrers; it does not set cookies and does not track you across sites.

We also use PostHog for product analytics — to understand which pages people visit, where they get stuck, and how well core flows work — so we can improve Stowly. We deliberately limit what PostHog receives:

• We identify signed-in users only by an internal account identifier — never your email, name, or other personal details. We may attach your plan tier (Free, Plus, or Pro) to understand feature usage.
• We never send the contents of your inventory. Item names, notes, values, room names, tags, photos, and documents are not transmitted to PostHog. Analytics events record that an action happened — not what it was about.
• PostHog also records anonymized session replays that help us diagnose usability problems. These replays mask all on-screen text and every input field, and block your photos, so the contents of your inventory are not visible in a replay.
• We honor your browser's “Do Not Track” setting. If it is enabled, PostHog analytics and session replay are disabled for you.

PostHog processes this data on our behalf under their terms and privacy policy. To opt out of product analytics and session replay, enable “Do Not Track” in your browser.

Your rights

You can update your display name from the Settings page, archive items at any time, and request full account deletion by emailing us. Deletion removes your account, items, photos, documents, and reminder schedules from our systems. Backups containing the data roll off on a normal retention schedule.
